Prof. Musso Munyeme, BvetMed, MSc-VPH, PhD is a veterinarian, researcher and lecturer in Veterinary Public Health and Wildlife Medicine at the University of Zambia. He is the One Health Coordinator of the World Bank Project, the Africa Center of Excellence for Infectious Diseases of Humans and Animals (ACEIDHA). Prof. Munyeme has over 20 years’ experience approaching complex problems from a One Health perspective, taking into account animal, human, and environmental health. He is currently the head of department of Disease Control under the School of Veterinary Medicine. He main research theme has been in bacterial zoonoses, working mainly with bovine tuberculosis (bTB) and anthrax at the human/livestock/wildlife interface. Through this role, he has worked on national and international public health areas including foodborne illness, zoonotic diseases in Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Uganda. Under various projects, he has helped to facilitate One Health training programs in Zambia and beyond. He has published his work in high impact peer reviewed scientific journals and presented his findings at various international fora.
